As in the previous opus, the painting does not exist as an added object; it is born of a withdrawal. On a wall once entirely veiled, a thin layer has been lifted. From this gesture of un-covering the tableau emerges: it reveals an older stratum, intact, once thought lost, now suddenly returning to the light like a past still virgin. What was concealed is reborn, without retouching, like a newborn ancestor — at once familiar and mysterious.
The proportions of the painting merge with those of the wall that hosts it. Centred with silent precision, its rectangle aligns with the diagonals of the surface, as a perfect mirror. Its form resonates with the architecture, and within that resonance are already glimpsed the future walls it might inhabit — their accidents, their slants, their openings. Each site becomes a host whose framework it reflects, a singular matrix that it both doubles and transfigures.
Thus, the painting is no longer an image laid upon the wall, but an inner echo: a structural reflection, faithful yet ever-changing, in which architecture contemplates itself.
