DiptychX unfolds as a wall-based composition that reaches toward the idea of infinity. Its exhibition is, by nature, a paradox — for infinity, strictly speaking, cannot be displayed. What is shown can only ever be a fragment, a section cut from an endless continuum — yet one that reveals the boundless potential of the whole.
As its name implies, DiptychX is composed of two parts: a diptych, yes, but one whose very duality expands, stretches, and multiplies itself. Infinity here lies not within the surface, but within the structure of the diptych — in its capacity to generate its own reflection, again and again.
It begins simply: two squares side by side — diptych1. Next comes its counterpart, a mirrored pair — diptych2. Through a process of exponential duplication, the composition unfolds further: 2 × 2 × 2 squares, diptych3, and so on. Each stage marks a new pulse, a further threshold of expansion.
Yet it is not the squares themselves that govern this rhythm — they remain constant. It is the voids between them that compose the true architecture of the work. These intervals — the breathing spaces of the wall — grow according to a mathematical progression: each distance multiplied by a factor of 1.25, generating a sequence of intervals — 2 cm, 2.5 cm, 3.125 cm, 3.9 cm… — a spatial cadence, precise and hypnotic.
Within this network of intervals, each diptych asserts its own identity while remaining part of a larger field. Without this carefully measured breathing space, DiptychX would appear as a mere grid of squares — a silent polyptych without air. Here, the void connects what the material divides.
Ultimately, it is the wall itself that dictates the scale. Its dimensions determine how far the work may grow, and at which stage it must pause. The wall becomes its governor, its threshold, its limit. Each installation is only a temporary halt in a process of infinite unfolding.
From the first diptych to the most monumental configurations, the sequence charts a path toward infinity: from the 30 × 30 cm of stage #02 to the 2393 × 2273 cm of stage #14, the wall expands in proportion to the thought that animates it.
